And I Finally Hit The Pavement

It’s been 6 days since I ran and I was pleasantly surprised at my pace and heart rate this morning. I’ve been sick most of the week. On Tuesday I spent 20 hours in bed, actually sleeping. My stomach has been and nauseous and uneasy. Even as I type this it is gurgling. But the heartburn that was actually painful only lasted for about two days.

Anyway, I’ll be getting caught up on my stats. I’m going to go meet mom at Peggy Sue’s for a delays Thanksgiving Dinner.

Incremental Marathon Update

I ran this morning. I also ran Friday morning. I’ve got about 3 days of stats to post sometime in the future.

Updates

Yes, I was cray cray and went for a run this morning. Stats will be posted later.

The other update is about college. I saw my academic advisor today. He gave me the proposal guideline I’ll need to write for my bachelors. I’m blending my addiction studies with psychology. So I’m actually going to be attending two colleges. Well, sorta.

I’m supposed to write about where I came from, where I’m at, and where I want to go. That way the two colleges can suggest classes for my bachelors and any further academic courses afterwards.

I’m excited. I’m getting closer to my goal.

All in all a good day.

Do I or Don’t I?

It’s 19 degrees outside with a wind of 11 mph. Do I go running or don’t I? I’m actually contemplating yes as the answer. I know. I know. I’m crazy. But it’s so fun.

Today’s Run

Yeah, I paid for those days off. I have sore left thigh muscles. And my pace was way high. But that’s to be expected. There was between a quarter to a half of inch of snow on the pavement, plus I ran on the upper trail which also had thin ice covering over puddles of water and mud. These account for both the high pace and the sore muscles. But I’ll live – with the aid of some Aleve. Anyway, to the stats!

Running Break

I needed to let my body fight off an illness. Not sure what it was, but it had me dragging. I struggled with sleep and I had little to no energy. So, I took 5 days off. I am going to bundle up and go for a run soon. Meanwhile, here are the stats from my last run.

5 Days On

I ended up with a stomach bug mid-week that kept me both off the pavement and home from work on Thursday. Even yesterday I still wasn’t 100%. Today, though, I felt up to a run. I chose a route that attacked elevation in the first mile and a half. Map and stats:

Note how steady my heart rate was despite the fluctuations in both pace and elevation.

Today’s Run

Not too bad considering I hadn’t run since Wednesday, and that I was ill through most of the week. Feeling better today. And the run was good.

Running Update

So, I did manage a couple of morning runs this past week. Unfortunately, after that I was hit with a stomach bug. I figure it was either the Tomato Basil Bisque soup I had at work, or it was a mild reaction to the flu shot I had on Monday. In either case it waylaid my running for a few days. I last ran on Wednesday the 24th. The plan this morning is to go for a simple run and then take Tina out for breakfast.

Anyway, here are the maps and stats for the last two runs:
