Staying Caught Up

Just Keep Running

Got that run in. But I decided to use my own treadmill instead of going to Anytime Fitness.

Getting Caught Up

Indoor and outdoor!

So, this is a catch-up post for my running. As I mentioned a while back, I fell the last time I ran outside. Thumped the back of my head on the ice pretty damn hard too. Thankfully, that’s the safest place for me to hit (I heard that snickering from you in the back row) and all that hurt was my neck muscles for a few days. I’m all better now. However, I decided to forgo running outside and use the treadmill.

So, what follows is two outdoor runs and two treadmill runs. Later on today I might do another treadmill. But I’m thinking I might do it at Anytime Fitness so as to get out of the hair of Tina as she cleans the house. We’ve learned I am too slow for her when it comes to cleaning and it’s better that I’m out of the way.

Now, the stats!

What!?!?!?!?

Are you kidding me with this weather? It’s supposed to be -4 degrees tomorrow morning. No. Just no.

Yeah, you bet ya!

Thankfully I decided to clean off my driveway last night. Originally I was going to hold of until this morning. That would have left me with three inches of ice to attempt to remove. I still have a crust of frozen mush out there, but it’s not solid ice.

My heart goes out to anyone in the Duluth area who decided to wait until this morning to shovel. I get it. You hoped to be able to remove the snow after it stopped falling. Now, though, you’re stuck with glare ice for the weekend – at the least. I haven’t checked to see how long this sub-zero weather is lasting.

Snow Blowed!

And it was a wet, sticky snow. If it had been dry I am sure I’d have been dealing with 12 inches. But it was super wet and so was mush. Had I had to shovel the stuff I’d be at the hospital right now with either back thrown out or a heart attack.

Wait.

I’m a chemical dependency counselor.

No heart.

So, just my back thrown out.

Misleading

In mental health and substance use disorder treatment there’s this catch phrase “Evidence Based ” that irritates me to no end. It’s a vague term that allows confusing correlation for causation.

As best as I can see the evidence being sited is statistics. It’s not in any way, shape, or form scientifically based experiments that prove causation. It’s statistics that at best show correlation.

Rise And Shine

Good Morning North Blogistan! It’s 18 degrees out and partly cloudy with a wind out of the North at 6 mph. I expect a high of 26 and the wind to swing around out of the west by the afternoon. It looks like there will be no precipitation until 8:00 PM. However, the wind is expected to pick up to 12 mph by then.

So, the first day of replacing the roof looks to be fair weather. Tomorrow, though, looks to be a different story with wind and snow forecast for the start of the day.

Ouch!

Just Keep Running

Well, I went for a run. At the 2.2 mile mark I slipped on the ice and landed on my back, bouncing the back of my head off the trail. I decided that was enough and walked the rest of the way home. I’ll post stats on today’s run and one other from earlier in the week.

Oh, and I’m pretty sure I’m going to stick to the treadmill for a while.

Simple Theme

I didn’t want anything fancy for a blog design. This is about as simple as it gets. I like!

Also, as you may have noticed, I’m going to eventual go for a run today. But first I have to make a trip to the bank, and other places.

Update: Well, images do not get posted on the main page. You have to click through to the individual post to see any images. Not liking that much. But I’ll play around with it later. Possibly there is a setting I have to change.

Catch Up

There was a hiccup with the GPS and Runtastic on my last run, causing the first 5 minutes not being recorded. Otherwise, her are the stats:
