No College For Me

It seems I misunderstood the payment requirements for college. The one-third amount I paid wasn’t enough to keep me in the class. As a result, I’ve been unceremoniously dumped. I can’t even connect to the class online anymore.

Honestly, I’m devastated at the moment. I was really feeling good about the work I was doing, the scores I was achieving. It’s a kick in the gut to be dropped from the class. And, the money I paid them they seem to not want to give back.

Anyway, it really sucks all the way around.

I sent an email to my adviser, seeing what I can do to remedy this situation.

No School Tonight?

It seems I can’t connect to Moodle, the platform through which I do my schooling. Not cool. I have an assignment that was due at 7:00 PM. Crap!

Update: So I emailed my online instructor and she told me that Moodle was experiencing problems and I have until 11:00 tonight to turn in the assignment. But there is now the problem that my bill is messed up. So I’m still a bit freaked.

One Hour Study

I managed to get through about a third of chapter 3 in my textbook. This one is a tough read. It’s biology, it’s brain makeup and function, and it’s going to require a lot of pre-quiz work and study this weekend. Plus, I still have an assignment due at 7:00 PM tonight. That, though, isn’t really a problem because I already have a picture selected. I just need to upload it to the school website.

Accidental School Work Avoidance

All I did was update my iMac. I wanted to install MacOS Sierra. I figured a 10 minute update process. Well, here it is an hour and a half later and it’s finally done. Sheesh. So, I’ll be reading my textbook in the morning and trying to catch up on my essay and other stuff this weekend.

Early Morning Studying

I had a tough time listening to yesterday’s lecture after having driving all the way from Shakopee to home. 3 hours on the road through rush hour traffic is exhausting. I managed to get through about half the lecture until I started drifting off. Luckily the video started right up this morning from where I left off last night. Now, all I need is to read chapter 3 in the textbook, look for some video or another visual distortion example on the internet, and get some more work done on my essays. I’m thinking this next weekend is a stay at home weekend so I can get ahead of my school work.

School Update

So, I’ve managed to keep up with my school work so far. One of my challenges was writing essays. I consider myself a writer, but I just hate the essay format. Let me write a quick bitch about politics, or ramble on about my uneventful life. But attempt to explain an idea logically?

Yeah, ah — no!

Anyway, I finally got myself motivated to write my first chapter essay. Thankfully the internet really has revolutionized studying. I can submit a draft of my essays for evaluation before actually turning them in to the instructor, i.e., the auto-grader. I get 5 attempts at having them reviewed. Well, to my surprise I managed a 75 percent score on my first attempt. Which, by the way, is the expected score for exams.

Huh.

I am not even done with revisions. I hadn’t even started when I submitted it for review. Seriously, I’m shocked.

Anyway, the plan is to listen to the online lecture after work. Then I have a third chapter to read. I’m also hoping to get that essay spruced up.

See, on top of having it evaluated, I have resources to educate me further on the writing of essays. So, I’m hoping to take advantage of them.

I’m loving school so far.

Speaking of Pirates

So, the one and only time he did make his taxes available it turned out he didn’t pay any taxes. So, either he truly lost money that year or he found a way around paying. Neither plays well with his ego.

Instead of just demanding that Donald Trump release his taxes, Hillary supporters should focus on the one year of tax info we do have. A 1981 report from New Jersey gambling regulators, disclosed that in the late 1970s he reported negative income and paid no taxes, according to the Washington Post. Zero. So instead of…

Matey!

I feel that it is my obligation to warn you that today is Talk Like A Pirate Day. Actor Robert Newton, who specialized in portraying pirates, especially Long John Silver in the 1950 Disney film Treasure Island, the 1954 Australian film Long John Silver, and as the title character in the 1952 film Blackbeard, the…

I Ran

Yes, I did run. Farther and longer than I planned. And I’m hurting. Nothing serious. Just old age. My Achille’s tendons, ankles, and lower calf muscles are aching. However, its just a dull ache, not the intense pain of a few months ago. I figure my legs are just taking their sweet time in getting conditioned.

On a side note, I am getting frustrated with the various exercise apps. I would love to be able to post all my runs directly to my blog, but none of them allow for that functionality. If one of them did, I’d pay money for the premium account. Well, we all can’t have what we want, can we?
