Video of the Fall

Here’s a video of Big Manitou Falls at Pattison State Park in Wisconsin where Tina and I spent part of the day.

There are also quite a few pictures, but that’ll take a bit more to get posted.

Is The Donald Destroying The GOP?

Meanwhile, a new USA Today poll shows that Trump is getting creamed among young voters by unprecedented margins, dwarfing even the gap faced by Richard Nixon during the Vietnam War. Clinton is leading Trump by an astonishing 56% to 20% margin among voters under 35. By contrast, Nixon got 32% among 18-29 year olds in 1972.The RCP average with no toss-ups gives Clinton a whopping 362 electoral votes In other words, this isn’t just a single-year disaster for the GOP. This is an ongoing generational and demographic catastrophe that threatens to permanently change the electoral map.

The more I read about the polls and Trump, the more I can’t help but wonder what is going to happen to the GOP. It really does appear that Trump’s candidacy is tearing apart the coalitions that make up the Republican party.

Worst Failure Of Analysis

The fact is Martin Longman is my go to guy when it comes to electorial analysis. So far he’s been right on the money when it comes to calling the rise of Trump and why. He’s also been on about Hillary and Bernie.

Probably the worst failure of analysis that I see occurs when people focus on the candidates rather than on coalitions of voters. The truth is, aside from some small changes in which subgroups of people decide not to vote at all, the same (types of) people who voted for Obama were always going to vote for Clinton or Sanders or even Lincoln Freakin’ Chafee.

Interesting Idea.

Moi is back blogging and posts at Bloggg

Weird tweets? Pretty much everything he says is BS. Are people THAT stupid that they really think this is legit?

Donald Trump isn’t mentally equipped to be involved in politics, or any situation that involves competition.…

Clearly Photoshopped

None-the-less it’s a cool tee-shirt. If it wasn’t for the fact most of the tee-shirts bought through Facebook posts are not of the best quality, I’d buy this one.

Back Slapping The Road

After a three week hiatus I decided to go for a run this morning. It was beautiful outside. A slight breeze, blue skies, and a perfect temperature to make it a wonderful run. It’s not that I haven’t been exercising, it’s that I’ve not been running. I’ve biked a few times, and even taken quite a few walks and hikes. But today I ran.

The problem is my achilles tendons have been acting up. Walking and bicycling do not aggravate them as much as running. So, with that in mind, as soon as I finished stretching after my run, I grabbed the corn bag from the freezer and iced them pesky tendons. It worked. Now they don’t feel aggravated at all.

Now, if I could just ice the people in my life who aggravate me.

Step Right Up To The Show That Never Ends

It really is all about how much money he can get while the getting is good.

(Slate) On Thursday, Mic confirmed that, no, there is no button to undo your recurring payment to the Trump campaign. You can’t delete the recurring payment. You can’t even delete your credit card information (you can update it, but it has to be with a different valid card number). So you just keep paying Trump’s campaign, we suppose, until the end of time.

Federal Election Commission spokesperson Christian Hilland told Mic that there’s nothing illegal about this per se, that is until a person’s automatic payments put her over the maximum contribution limit of $2,700.

Clinton’s campaign has a “remove card” option on its site for recurring payments, Mic reports. Trump’s campaign did not return multiple requests for comment to the site.

And this is from the second story down.

“This was in every way an attempt to convey empty wealth, which it turned out to be a lot emptier than Donald expected or than any of us saw coming,” Wayne Barrett, author of Trump: The Deals and the Downfall, told the Post. “Since then he’s become a wealthy man by selling the name that was based on failed projects. The real things that he built, where are they?”

Indeed, Trump has boasted regularly about his success in taking as much money as possible out of Atlantic City for his own personal benefit while leaving his actual projects in massive debt. “Atlantic City fueled a lot of growth for me,” Trump told the Times. “The money I took out of there was incredible.”

The man is but a carnival huckster.
